The American Institute of Architects has announced 23 winners for the 2015 edition of its annual awards, including a visitor centre for the Wild Turkey Bourbon distillery, a cube-shaped courthouse and BIG’s subterranean maritime museum in Denmark.
Designs by SOM, KieranTimberlake, Bohlin Cywinski Jackson and Thomas Phifer and Partners were among those recognised by the 2015 AIA Institute Honor Awards, which encompasses projects in the fields of architecture, interior architecture and urban design projects by architects licensed in the United States.
Winners in the architecture category include an ice rink in Brooklyn and a community centre in Haiti, while the Beats By Dre headquarters and an office with a 330-metre-long “super-table” were recognised in the interior design category.
Winners were selected by a jury of architects and academics. Awards will be presented at the AIA 2015 National Convention and Design Exposition in Atlanta this May.
