It's Art Basel week in Miami, and as a way to showcase architecture as art, today we are featuring one of our favorite moments @auberge_beach. This striking sculptural staircase mimics the project's signature curved forms and incorporates elegant materials and subtle lighting to elevate an otherwise functional space.

This whimsical design for an office building on Miami Beach remains one of our favorites! The very idea of an office building in SoBe is a rare occurrence, and we wanted to make this one of the most dynamic and free-flowing corporate spaces we would ever design. The urban conditions and location influenced the sculpting of the massing, which is purposefully carved to create an internal courtyard that allows light and air to filter in through the center of the building.

The Markley Hotel draws inspiration from the textures, topography, and hidden moments found throughout Greenville, South Carolina. Met Square is the fourth and final phase of the visionary Metropolitan Miami development. This urban center consists of an 80,000 SF cinema complex, 40,000 SF of luxury dining and retail, a 34-story apartment tower, and a museum paying tribune to the Native American Tequesta tribe and Miami's first hotel, The Royal Palm Hotel by Henry Flagler. Inspired by the "big box" nature of cinemas, the facade treatment creates a playful composition of cubes that stack and layer above one another. The aesthetic is further expressed in the balcony treatment of the tower above.

Happy Halloween! This year we're dressing up as our favorite decades, so it's only right that we post a #tbt to the iconic @wmiamihotel in Miami Beach. Completed in collaboration with the late New York architect Costas Knodylis, this unique design positions guest rooms on a 25-degree angle, providing guests with uninterrupted oceanfront views.

For our Civic Center project near the Miami River, we began our design process by taking a microscopic look at the the marine ecosystem, and coral sediments in particular. Our exploration into these microscopic worlds inspired us to use certain geometries not only as functional openings or wall patterns, but as a way to root the building and the neighborhood to the history of the city, and to enhance public awareness about the fragility of marine life.

2nd & 2nd is a super high-rise located in the core of downtown Miami, and is one of the tallest towers we've designed to date. Inspired by the concentric shapes of the site's immediate context, the resulting L-shaped building allows for better views, more air and light, and pays reverence to its iconic neighbor - the Miami Tower. Two-thirds of the way up the building, the L-shape cuts back, eventually disappearing altogether and giving way to a slender and elegant form.
