An international boutique hotel flag known for its one-of-a-kind luxury properties is coming to downtown Tampa, anchoring a 26-story mixed-use tower in the heart of Water Street.
Strategic Property Partners, the developer of Water Street Tampa, said Thursday that it has secured the Edition flag for a 173-room boutique hotel across the street from Amalie Arena, at the northwest corner of Channelside Drive and Water Street. It will be the city’s first five-star hotel and is slated to open in early 2021.
SPP is the real estate development company controlled by Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik and Cascade Investment LLC. Water Street includes more than 50 acres between the Channel district waterfront and the central business district; at completion, the development is slated to include more than 9 million square feet of new space.
Morris Adjmi of New York is the architect for the hotel, working in collaboration with Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates (NBWW), a Florida-based architecture and planning firm. Roman and Williams is handling the interior design.
