The Graham Foundation announced today that $419,000 in grant funding will be distributed to thirty-one organizations in support of projects that inspire new and challenging ideas in architecture. The grants were awarded to sixteen exhibitions, eleven publications, three public programs, and one film, video, and new media organization.
Among the exhibitions that were honored are Anyone Corporation’s US Pavilion at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale, the Bronx Museum of Art’s “Gordon Matta-Clark: Anarchitect,” the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts’ “Are We Human?: Third Istanbul Design Biennial,” and Serpentine Gallery’s “Serpentine Pavilion and Summer Houses.” The recipients were selected from a pool of more than 230 submissions from twenty-four countries.
Established in 1956, the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in Fine Arts awards project-based grants yearly to individuals and organizations that explore ideas surrounding architecture and its role in the arts, culture, and society.
