Increasingly stringent energy codes and an industry-wide push for greener materials are motivating insulation manufacturers and building scientists alike to rethink the product’s role in the wall system. Meanwhile, sales of the material across the residential and commercial supply chains, driven by the market recovery as well as the broader adoption of the updated codes that call for more insulation, are forecast to rise 6.6 percent annually through 2019 to roughly $10.3 billion in 2019, reports Cleveland-based market research firm The Freedonia Group.
