The complex will have three hotels, including a new JW Marriott and EDITION property, and 150,000 square feet of combined event space.
Tampa is set to get a major new lifestyle and event complex anchored by new JW Marriott and EDITION hotels. An existing Marriott hotel is also slated for renovations as part of the project.
The complex will be a 26-story tower in the heart of the Water Street Tampa neighborhood. As part of the new Tampa EDITION and the JW Marriott Tampa hotels, the project will have a combined 150,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Designed by Morris Adjmi, the 173-room Tampa EDITION is the New York-based architect’s first commission in Tampa, among a handful of past projects in Florida. Morris Admji is working in collaboration with Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates (NBWW), a Florida-based architecture and planning firm.
Paired with interiors designed by Roman and Williams, the Tampa EDITION will offer multiple social and amenity spaces for guests and residents, including a rooftop pool with adjacent bar and restaurant, as well as a spa and fitness center. Anchoring the ground floor will be a selection of curated restaurant and retail spaces that have been programmed by the Ian Schrager Company.
The new, 519-room JW Marriott Tampa hotel is being designed by Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates (NBWW), with interiors by Champalimaud Design. The hotel will be adjacent to the Tampa Convention Center and Amalie Arena, and will have 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including the largest hotel ballroom in Tampa Bay at approximately 30,000 square feet.
